卡迪夫大学访学教师学习简报(三)

卡迪夫的秋色静美而值得期待金灿灿的树叶不慌不忙地随着秋风在卡迪夫大学轻舞飞扬累了便轻轻散落静静的等待着……秋雨秋风至天也就冷了。但,正如那静静等待的秋叶,在卡大的教室里,同学们凝神倾听,热烈讨论、热情演绎、静待那暖暖的、无声的花儿盛开,未来可期,便是贵州大学访学教师团对卡大老师们辛勤教学最深刻的回应和赞美。

Autumn is the most anticipated season in Cardiff in that it is quiet and beautiful. Golden leaves dance happily with autumn wind on campus. When feeling tired, they scatter about gently and wait quietly... It is getting colder after the arrival of the autumn wind and rain. However, in contrast with the quiet scenery is the buzz and liveliness in the classrooms of Guizhou delegates, the visiting teachers listened attentively, discussed warmly or heatedly, and performed enthusiastically. They grew and made subtle progress day by day in their study of English language and Modules, which was quite similar to the long accumulation process of flowers before they fully bloom. However, it is worth waiting because such flowers are the best gifts they can present to their beloved teachers to show their appreciation for their diligence and hard work.

  2019年10月14日至25日两周的课程继续延续上一阶段的学习,在两个主课程模块的学习中, 导师负责人艾玛简和她的团队成员: 克里斯、詹姆斯、 阿莉克斯博士、马克博士,继续带着大家对高等教育中的现代教学方法、教学技能和教学模式进行了深入的分析和细致的探讨,并向大家介绍了布鲁姆的“教育目标分类模式”、“案例教学法全纳教育等英国高校当前较为流行的教学模式和方法,同时,也在课程内容设置、教学活动设计、评估机制设计等方面,进行了相关的实践和探索,同学们都全神贯注,积极主动地投入到每一次的讨论、练习中,大家都感觉收获满满。

The two-week courses between the 14th and 25th of October is essentially a continuation of the previous stage of learning. In module1 and module2, the academic leader and co-director Ms. Emmajane Milton, together with her team members Chris, James, Dr Alexandra Morgan, Dr. Mark Connally etc., continued with the theories of higher education including learning and teaching strategies, use of innovative technologies to support teaching and teaching modes. They conducted detailed analysis about given topics, followed by many thought-provoking questions and then detailed discussions. During these two weeks, the delegates were introduced many current theories in British higher education such as the  "Blooms Taxonomy" "Case making method" and "Inclusive Education". At the same time, practices and explorations were carried out involving module design, design and planning of teaching activities, evaluation and assessment mechanism. The delegates were all absorbed and actively engaged in discussions and practices and they all felt that they had gained a lot.

    英语语言培训和学习技巧等辅助课程,导师克莱尔和她的团队成员大卫、亚历克斯、娜塔莉等几位教育学专家继续在听、写作、演讲与讲座、反思性学习、批判性思维培养等方面给培训团老师们带来更多更深入的教学体验,通过反思活动、写作训练、现场讨论、小组演练、个人陈述等各种方式帮助老师们全方更好地提升学习能力以及英语综合能力

For in-sessional-courses such as English language Programme and Study Skills, Claire and her team members David, Alex and Natalie offered all round training concerning listening, speaking, writing, presentation, reflection practice and critical thinking through a variety of activities to help the visiting teachers to promote their English proficiency and their ability to learn in an English-speaking environment.

为了帮助贵大教师团更加深入的了解卡迪夫大学学生管理的现状与机制,1014卡迪夫大学校方特别安排了教师团参观学生联合会的活动。卡迪夫大学学联副主席Mr. Tomos Evans热情欢迎和接待了培训团成员一行,向大家详细介绍了卡迪夫学联的组织架构、各个部门的相关职责以及学联的运行机制等情况,教师团成员也咨询了关于学联的相关问题。接着,汤姆斯带着大家逐一参观走访了学联的各个部门。教师团深度体验了卡迪夫大学学联的管理方式、管理理念以及组织架构等,收获颇丰。


 On the 14th of October, CPD arranged a guided tour for Guizhou delegates to Cardiff Students’ Union. The visiting teachers were warmly received by Tomos Evans, Vice President of Education. He delivered a 50 minutes lecture, introducing in every detail about the organizational structure, responsibilities of the departments and operational mechanism of the Students’ Union. Then he walked the delegates around all the departments and branches and answered questions from the delegates. After the tour, the delegates found that the administration of Students’ Union was quite different from that in Chinese universities.

1015日至25日,教师团应卡迪夫大学孔子学院中方院长林丽芳老师的邀请,旁听了孔子学院汉语教学课程。在观摩中方教师给当地汉语爱好者进行授课的过程中,教师团深刻的感受到当地汉语爱好者对中文及中国文化的热情,两周的听课过程使访学团的老师们更加清楚的认识和理解了汉语及中国传统文化教学及推广的重要意义。

From 15th to 25th of October, Guizhou delegates attended the Chinese language courses in Cardiff University at the kind invitation of Dr. Lin Lifang, dean (China) of Confucius institute. In the observation, the visiting teachers experienced and felt by themselves the love and passion of local people for Chinese language and Chinese culture and they had a better understanding on the significance of teaching Chinese language and spreading traditional Chinese culture.

紧张而充实的学习之余,卡迪夫大学为贵大教师访学团精心的筹备了威尔士社会、文化、经济深度体验项目。分别于1022日和1025日,由卡迪夫大学教师Dr. JamesDr. Danielle带队,并在当地资深文化传习者Sian的陪同下进行了深入到卡迪夫街市的当地文化体验。教师团通过倾听当地百年老店店主讲解历史及相关工艺、传说,品尝各种传统工艺美食等方式,拓展、加深了对威尔士及卡迪夫的了解。

Cardiff university prepared an in-depth social, cultural and economic tour around the downtown of Welsh capital to help the delegates relieve from the stress of the intensive and integrated study. On 22 October and 25 October respectively, the delegates, led by Dr James Snook and Dr Danielle in two groups and accompanied by a local cultural practitioner Sian, visited 8 landmarks in Cardiff city center. They listened to the local shop owners recalling their legends and history over the past century, watched their beautiful hand-make local crafts, and tasted a dozen of traditional delicacies. The tours opened a brand new window for the teachers to achieve a deeper understanding of the local culture.

三个月的访学即将过半,各位教师在英语能力、教学设计、教学反思等方面都取得了很大的收获,相信大家回国后定能将所学的教学理念及方法充分应用到各自的教学中。

Time flies and it has been 6 weeks since the delegates arrived at Cardiff University. So far, the visiting teachers made dramatic progress in English proficiency, teaching design, teaching reflection and many other aspects and there is no doubt that they will be able to apply what they have learned about teaching pedagogies in higher education into practice after they return to their motherland.
